VINCENT'S VICTOIRE VOYAGE
VINCENT'S VICTOIRE VOYAGE
Vincent was used to ride mountain bike but over the past few years he started to use his bike for everything, commuting to traveling.
Vincent was looking for a french bicycle manufacturer that could make his dream bike. He discovered our brand through our website :
I looked at your different creations on your website. It is such a mine of informations about hand made bicycles, your vision of custom made, fillet-brazing… by reading all this, I was convinced that I wanted you to build my bike.
Vincent’s wanted a bike that allows him to ride on the week-ends but also be able to travel by himself or with his family on European roads. One of our creation was very appealing to him : :
I instantly fell in love with the Victoire René. I asked to follow the same guidelines for my bike.
Hand-made work is very important for Vincent. In our workshop, we built him custom-made frame, fork, stem, luggage rack. The frame was made around the idea of sturdiness in a traditional randonneuse spirit. For this project, we made a special steel/stainless steel Bi-Laminated headtube. Then, we used the same design around fillet brazed seat clamp. Dropouts are from Paragon and the frame is designed to allow the use of a carbon gates drive belt, with the help of a seat stay splitter..
The custom-made, lugged, steel fork is our standard fastenings that can be used with front luggage rack Victoire or King Cage - Many Thing Cage. This modularity will allow Vincent to adapt the loading of his bike according to his wishes and his trips.
The stem is our René creation, in tribute to the legendary frame builder from Levallois. We use this stem in many of our creations. It has a specific three arms design that allows to insert a butée de gaine de frein, the bell and the décaleur of the luggage rack. The front luggage rack is also entirely designed and made in our workshop. This modular is made from two different parts: a luggage rack to carry a panier and/or bottom parts for side paniers for long distances.
With luggage rack comes luggages. The set is from our friend and partner Helmut Equipement. Rodolphe makes personalized luggages from French fabric all by hand.
Last but not least, the Silca Impero pump was painted in the same dark blue to match Vincent’s bike. .
What a surprise !! There is definitely a lot of work done. Every details is perfect on this bike. It looks like a luxury watch with chrome/brass and leather tons.
We went with Vincent on his first ride during one of our lunch rides./p>
The first ride was magical. I was chocked with the silence and confort. I felt like I was sitting in a armchair. I was a little concerned about the weight but even fully packed with the luggages, it’s still light and easy to handle.
