Olivier's Victoire De Ville "Forty Project"

Olivier's Victoire De Ville "Forty Project"

For his 40th birthday, Olivier, our customer, wanted a unique bicycle for his daily commuting. A bike mixing performancesafety, and  practical details. He had this project in mind for a long time, so he knew exactly what he wanted. As a consequence, it is with many demands he contacted us for this  "Forty Project".

Like on every urban bicycles, he wanted a reliable bike with a very few maintenance. That's why he chose a Gates belt drivetrain, cleaner and more quiet than a classical chain drivetrain, combines with a Shimano Alfine hub with integrated gears. The dynamo SON front hub produces electricity for the front and the rear light. The specifical SON SL fork dropouts make the electrical contact, so you can remove easily your wheel without any wires. The front luggage-rack is designed to carry a computer bag.

Despite all this additional parts, Olivier wanted to keep an uncluttered style on his bike, integrated as many components as possible. As a consequence, we worked a lot on the design to think where is the best place for each components. All the cable are integrated in the frame, for the light, the drivetrain or the brakes. The luggage rack as well as the brakes mounts are directly weld on the fork. The lights are also integrated, on the seat tube for the rear one and under the luggage-rack for the front one.

At least, he wanted a light and reactive bicycle, to enjoy each commuting ride, in every conditions. The geometry as well as the tubing was chosen in this way. The front triangle is made of Columbus Max tubing, wheras the seatstays and chainstays are from the Life range, with a Spirit seat tube.

You can discover all these details and the final result in our Gallery above.
