MARGOT'S VICTOIRE VERSUS
MARGOT'S VICTOIRE VERSUS
Margot is a visual artist. Bike brings her freedom, allows her to escape, discover and get some inspiration that she uses in her daily work. She is used to 100K rides but she’s considering longer rides on a full day or a few days with a light weight load like those from our friend Helmut Equipement. Margot found out about Victoire through her previous bike-polo experience a few years ago.
You made some bike-polo bikes for my friends and some of them have now Victoire road bikes. So I trusted your work, plus I have always ridden steel bikes. That’s why I chose you to build my bike. More than the steel, it is more precisely the custom-made part that I was interested in. I have always struggled to find the perfect bike for me because of my height.
Margot wanted a sporty and light (less than 9kg) bike that she could ride for a long amount of time comfortably without caring about the state of the ground.
For Margot’s Victoire Versus, the postural study was the key part of the creation. With her type of morphology, we leaned towards 650B wheels, allowing us to build a more consistent bike and meeting the client’s expectations..
The frame was made from TANGE Prestige Japan and Columbus Zona tubes, to end up with a light and sporty frame that can have large tires to gain in confort and to venture off the beaten tracks. 44mm headtube to go with the ENVE carbon fork, BSA bottom bracket, internal routing and lighting system for future journey.
Margot gave us free rein for the mounting. We focused on light weight, reliability and cost. SRAM Force 1 transmission with 42T Garbaruk oval chainring and 10x42 CASSETTE, Tune Dreckschleuder wheels and 650Bx38 Compass Loup Loup Pass tires. Thomson and Fisik for the rest of the components.
And last but not least, the paint for the frame, fork and stem is a nice Wildberry tint that enhances the whole bike.
As a local client, Margot got to discover her Versus in our workshop.
I was lucky enough to see my frame before painting and I was already excited. The final result after mounting makes me even more excited. It is exactly the look that I was wishing for. I can’t wait to ride it.
We went on a ride with Margot on the local classic « tour du Puy-de-Dome », a 45/50K tour around the famous volcano in Auvergne.
What a great delight to ride my Versus, I am feeling very good on it. It is easy to ride, confortable, I feel like I am on a magic carpet.
