Guillaume discovered Victoire through his cyclist friends. His love for stainless steel mountain bikes comes from small British brands who make bikes in small batch size, and also he had fun riding with his Genesis made from the best material. His project with Victoire was motivated by the idea of having a custom-made bike, but more importantly the artisanal manufacture from France, especially from Auvergne encouraged Guillaume to trust us.
I have always wanted to have a mountain bike made. And while we are doing custom-made, it’s the opportunity to switch for more modern components : 29" wheels, single chainring …
I know that I want certain components, but I have absolutely no idea of the rest. After discussing with the team on these particular points, they helped me choose the great value.
Guillaume MTB frame was made from Columbus Zona 29ER tubes. These tubes have been specifically machined for MTB practice.
This Victoire MTB set up :
- Custom-made geometry
- Internal routing
- BSA bottom bracket
- Postmount bracket
- Internal telescopic seat post
After any feedbacks with Guillaume, we chose reliable component which meet his expectations, starting with Thomson devices. We really like these products from the American manufacturer are high quality for a decent price and we use them on a lot of our bikes.
Fork and brakes come from collaborator Formula, a bias for Victoire to use this brand for most of our MTB components. Each part is precisely made and ensures an optimal quality, for any level of practice.
One by transmission is the GX Eagle model from SRAM, 1x12V transmission at an unbeatable price. At Victoire, it is the most used transmission for MTB.
At last, wheels are TUNE with the aluminium Race 3.0 model.
For the aesthetic, Guillaume chose the color black for sobriety with a little twist of anodized red (Chris King head tube and bottom bracket, Tune hub, Crankbrother spoke heads and pedals).
- On the discovery of his Victoire MTB 29".
This moment is difficult to explain with words. I was litteraly shoked during the presentation. I appreciated all the work done and your attention to detail. What struck me was the dedication you had for the project. For me, the red for spoke heads and hubs was one of my wishes and I forgot to confirm it but you understood perfectly the aesthetic I was going for during our discussions. This can seem trivial but it just demonstrates how important it is to come and make a bike with you. Your professionalism and concern for customer satisfaction is laudable.
- After his first ride
I like everything about this bike from the position to its behavior, it’s 100% pleasure. These first feelings was confirmed when I went for a longer ride.
My next adventures will bring me to Hanoï, Vietnam for business reasons.
We wish Guillaume and Muôn (Vietnamese nickname given to his MTB) all the best.
