The project

Already owner of a Victoire MTB 27.5+, Christophe also ordered a bespoke Versus. He rides for 10 years on long distances. He achieved Paris-Brest-Paris in 2015 and Brevet on 200, 300, 400 and 600 kilometers.

Steel is a material that fits well my riding. More than a simple bicycle, I was looking for a unique object, a piece of craftmanship, tailor-made in France. Victoire gathered all these expectations.

Our client initially ordered a Virage, our fixed gear model, but he went more and more into long distance. Moreover, as a mountainbiker, he was intrigued by gravel riding. The evolution of our creations finally convinced him to go for a Versus model.

Frame and equipement

We determined the ideal postion of Christophe for long distance riding thanks to the fitting we did in our workshop. The frame is made from Columbus XCR stainless steel tubing. We used the latest standards : T47 bottom bracket, Syntace thru-axle dropouts and Flamount brake mount.

The fork is an ENVE Gravel with a carbon fender. The rear one was custom made by a local artisan. The other components are tried and tested : SRAM Force 1 drivetrain, Compass Bon Jon Pass tires, Chris King components and wheels laced in house on H+SON The Hydra rims and Chris King R45 and ISO hubs.

I am convinced by the Plus tires in MTB, so I was curious to try the wide tires on the road. I trusted into Victoire advices for the rest of the equipement.

Future project

We shared with Christophe his shakedown ride before he starts the season of long distance rides :

I will do some BRM in 2018, and maybe one 1200K next to Bordeaux. I will also take part into some Gravel events and I aim to be at Paris-Brest-Paris in 2019.
