Antoine's Victoire Véloce

Antoine's Victoire Véloce

THE PROJECT

Antoine is a road bike addict who practice during 70/100km rides with his club mates. He contacted us with the idea of a classic, timeless road bike with a similar paint job to his father's bicycle, who initiated him to cycling. Antoine was interesting by our Made in France, handmade and durable actions. He wanted, not only a new bicycle, but also being involved in the process, helping defining the specifications and details on his upcoming Victoire with the whole team working at Victoire. Our postural study program takes place at our workshop and last one entire day : this is the perfect way to meet everyone who is involded into the fabrication of our made to measure bicycles, and have a look to the lacing of the wheels, the frame building of the assembly of the bikes.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Antoine's Victoire Véloce has been configured without any carbon parts, or new technology. the main goal was to obtain a timessl look with a sporty feeling. The frame is made with Columbus HSS tubing. this oversized tubeset is coupled with a T47 bottom bracket, and classic Victoire options like full internal routing, or stays seat post clamp.

The Campagnolo Potenza groupset has been selected in its "silver alloy" finish, with a Made in USA White Industries crankset. More USA products can be found on this Victoire, like the Chris King headset, Thomson stem or Paul seat post, all in silver finish. Wheels are laced in house, with Mavic Open Pro UST rims, Hope RS4 hubs and Sapim CX-Ray spokes.

THE BIKE REVEAL

  • Antoine picked up his Victoire at the workshop, and took the opportunity to have a chat with the whole team. He also gaves us his first impressions :

My initial request was a custom steel bicycle fitting my measurements, my morphology and my desires. The result is exactly what I was dreaming of. When I look at my Victoire, I see what I planned. It is not about liking or disliking it, it is about seeing myself in the machine because we did add a bit of myself in it. And it is fascinating that I can see it (not that I have brought anything genius).

My first reaction when I saw the bike : nice yet simple staging, well adjusted. I am not a fast person, but I immediately saw a beautiful bike, beautiful color and nice balance, nice look. I said : there it is. The discovery begins. My choice of a classic look is very pleasing. Details come after : good job, nicely adjusted and  finished, very well mounted, a very meticulous work. I don't know what to do with myself, I need some peace and quiet so I can take a good look at it : this is what I have been doing for a few days now.

Since then, Antoine has been testing his new bike on his favorite roads with his cycling club friends:

Fantastic! This bike stands in a way ... IT just feels way more serious, stiff  but also comfortable. I'm just really happy, it is just like having a new friend, and this bike will be my friend for a long time. Congrats guys!
